This is what occupies my days now. The Georgia News Lab is a cooperative reporting initiative that brings together young journalists from all over the state of Georgia to collaborate on investigative projects with the Atlanta Journal Constitution and WSBTV in Atlanta.
I’ve included below the stories, published in the AJC, that I’ve contributed to, but that’s only a fraction of the story. The work the News Lab does often means months of investigation and preparation often to only become one part of one story.
Atlanta Mayor’s Race
In Fall of 2017 we worked extensively on backgrounding the candidates for Atlanta mayor. Everything from financial records to past votes, was scoured for each of the leading candidates. For me, this meant Mary Norwood, long time front runner and narrow second place finisher. Ultimately this work led to a large breakdown on campaign finances for the mayor’s race that all of us contributed to. I also contributed research to a truth testing run-down of both run-off candidates positions.
